Electrolube ER2220 is an epoxy thermal potting from Electrolube, rated 1.54 W/m·K. Typical uses: LED heat dissipation/encapsulation; thermal management with flame retardancy (UL94 V-0). Short answer: we dispense it with a Material Feeding System (MFS) that agitates and recirculates the material, feeding a PDP two-component progressive cavity metering pump.

How we dispense it
For a two-component potting material we start with a PDP two-component progressive cavity metering pump fed by a Material Feeding System (MFS) that agitates and recirculates both sides, with heat and vacuum degassing when the material calls for it. Pump size depends on your shot size and pour time.
- Abrasion: the ceramic filler that carries the heat wears pumps out. We use tungsten carbide rotors and wear-resistant stators and run the pump slowly, at 8 to 12 rpm, for long wear life.
- Ratio: each side is metered by its own progressive cavity pump to within ±1%. Check ratio by weighing a shot from each side every week, because filled materials vary from batch to batch.
- Mixing: a disposable static mixer does the mixing. Purge or change it before the material's working life runs out.
- Settling: heavy filler settles in the pail. Keeping the material agitated and recirculating, all the way to the pump, gives every pour the same filler content, and vacuum degassing keeps air out of the part.
See our PDP two-component metering pumps and the Material Feeding System (MFS), or use the pump configurator.
How the MFS keeps filler in suspension
The Material Feeding System agitates and recirculates the material so heavy filler stays mixed all the way to the pump. Watch how it circulates the product:
Frequently asked questions
What pump should I use to dispense Electrolube ER2220?
For a two-component potting material we start with a PDP two-component progressive cavity metering pump fed by a Material Feeding System (MFS) that agitates and recirculates both sides, with heat and vacuum degassing when the material calls for it. Pump size depends on your shot or bead size and cycle time; send us those and we will size it.
Can Electrolube ER2220 be fed from pails or drums?
Yes. For production volumes we feed it from bulk containers through a Material Feeding System (MFS), which agitates and recirculates the material so the filler stays in suspension, and degasses it under vacuum.
How do you keep Electrolube ER2220 on ratio?
Each side is metered by its own progressive cavity pump, held to within ±1% per side. We recommend a weekly check: weigh a shot from each side and adjust, because filled materials vary from batch to batch.
Will Electrolube ER2220 wear out the pump?
Thermally conductive fillers are abrasive. With tungsten carbide rotors, wear-resistant stators and pump speeds of 8 to 12 rpm, stators typically last 6 to 12 months and rotors up to 24 months, and a pump rebuild takes under an hour.
