Progressive Cavity Pump Rotors

Spare Parts - Rotor

The rotor is the hardest-working part of a progressive cavity pump. Choose it by your material: stainless steel for unfilled materials up to a specific gravity of 1.79, tungsten carbide for dense or abrasive filled materials from SG 1.8 to 10. On abrasive materials, tungsten carbide rotors last up to 24 months, and a pump rebuild takes under an hour.

Rotor Specific gravity Use for
Stainless steel 0 – 1.79 Unfilled adhesives, silicones, urethanes
Tungsten carbide 1.8 – 10 Filled and abrasive materials: alumina, silica, thermal gap fillers
Ceramic (PCP-150MF / PCP-500MF) — Anaerobics, cyanoacrylates, acids and alkalis: no metal in the wetted path

Frequently asked questions

How often do I replace parts?

On abrasive materials, plan on a stator every 6 to 12 months and a tungsten carbide rotor up to every 24 months.

Do I replace the stator with the rotor?

Usually the stator wears first. Replace both if the rotor shows wear.

Which rotor do I need for anaerobics or cyanoacrylates?

Neither stainless nor carbide: these materials react with metal. Use the PCP-150MF or PCP-500MF, which has a ceramic rotor and a PEEK chamber so the material touches no metal.
