DT-F Tip Finder

The DT-F Tip Finder eliminates manual re-teaching after a needle change: it measures the X/Y/Z offset automatically and updates the tool data before the next dispense cycle.

When the needle is changed, the tip finder uses the previously positioned data to automatically adjust tool-tip position.

When a needle has changed, the tip finder automatically measures anu change in X/Y/Z axis, adjusting the tool data accordingly.

FAQ

Why do you need a tip finder when changing needles?

Every needle swap shifts the tool tip position slightly — even a fraction of a millimeter throws off dispense placement on tight-pitch work. Without automatic detection, that means manually re-teaching tool offsets after every needle change, which eats cycle time and invites operator error.

How accurate is the DT-F Tip Finder?

±0.03 mm across all three axes, for needle diameters from Ø0.4 to Ø2.0 mm.

Does it need to be manually triggered, or does it run automatically as part of the cycle?

It's designed to run as part of the standard needle-change routine — detect offset, update tool data, resume dispensing. Check the DT-F integration notes for your specific controller (Pro Pump Controller vs. Pro External Controller) for the exact trigger sequence.
