What Is an Industrial Heated Hose?

An electric heated hose, also referred to as a temperature-controlled hose or heated transfer hose, is designed to maintain a steady internal temperature during transport of thermally sensitive fluids. Common in adhesive manufacturing equipment, automated fluid dispensing, and hot melt adhesive systems, these hoses prevent solidification and ensure precise application.

In hot melt systems, heated hoses carry adhesives from the glue melting unit or hot melt tank to the application head. These flexible heated hoses are key to accurate delivery in industries like packaging, woodworking, electronics potting, and battery assembly.

Applications Include:

  • Woodworking and furniture bonding (PUR, EVA adhesives)
  • Electronic encapsulation and epoxy dispensing hose setups
  • Packaging lines and industrial automation hose systems
  • Heated hose for electronic potting and solar modules
  • Automotive adhesive hose systems for battery and e-mobility use

Heated Hose Construction & Technology

Our flexible heated hoses are constructed with PTFE-lined hose cores, stainless steel braiding, and silicone-jacketed hose insulation. The heating element spirals around the hose for uniform thermal distribution. Outer layers of heat-resistant insulation such as fiberglass or foam ensure energy efficiency. The result: consistent, uninterrupted delivery of temperature-sensitive fluids under varying environmental conditions.

Technical Specifications:

  • Core Material: PTFE (250°C grade)
  • Braiding: Stainless Steel 304
  • Heating Element: Nichrome or custom alloys
  • Max Pressure: 300 bar (burst up to 1900 bar)
  • Operating Temperature: Up to 250°C
  • Sensor Options: RTD / Thermocouple
  • Jacket Material: Nylon or Polyamide braid (customizable)

FAQ – Heated Hoses for Hot Melt Applications

How often should a heated hose be replaced?

For regular industrial use, once every 12 months is a general recommendation depending on cycle time and heat exposure.

Does hose length affect performance?

Yes. Longer hoses may suffer from heat loss or pressure drop. We offer custom length heated hoses to meet exact equipment layouts.

Are your hoses compatible with other systems?

Yes. We provide OEM heated hose options and can match specifications for Graco-compatible heated hoses or other dispensing systems.

Do I need to clean my hose regularly?

Periodic cleaning (annually or biannually) extends hose life and prevents adhesive buildup or blockages.

What does a high-quality heated hose cost?

Costs vary by size and configuration. We offer competitive pricing on both standard and custom engineered hose assemblies.
